A MV283 R is issued to those who do not meet 7-12 criteria but hold middle school or high school teacher certification and/or administration credentials. The MV283 R limits teaching to only BTW component of a program.

Traffic Safety - Part 1 - Improving Classroom Instruction
Pre-requisite: Secondary School Teaching Certificate - 21 years of age and a driver's license.
This course provides participants with the theory and content material to teach classroom driver education. This is Part 1 of a 2 part program. Teleconferencing for help is offered evenings or weekends during the course.

Traffic Safety 2 - Improving Laboratory Instruction BTW
Pre-requisite: Concurrent enrollment with Traffic Safety 1
SUNY BROOME may have these meetings off site depending on regional locations and required participant class size. This course provides participants with the theories and skill sets necessary for teaching driving in various environments. It bridges information discussed in the classroom to actual hands on and observations on the road.
Online Zoom Meetings: TBD
Coursework plus 2 weekend meetings/ hands on required.
