The National Road Safety Foundation partners with GHSA (Governors Highway Safety Association) to support innovative state approaches that address the pressing issues of road safety through a competitive grant program. Grantee efforts have included projects targeting drowsy driving and speeding with public awareness campaigns and full comprehensive programs, which include engineering, education, enforcement, EMS and policy countermeasures.

2026 Drive2Life PSA Contest
Theme: Share the Road
Challenge:
Students must write a script for a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) video about Sharing the Road with Other Vehicles and Pedestrians
Prize:
One Grand Prize student winner will receive $2,000, and get to produce his or her PSA with an Emmy Plus, the winner and his or her PSA will be featured on Teen Kids News! See the Prizes section below for more details.

Download, photocopy, and distribute the reproducible activity sheets to the right, to all students, or share the PDFs through your school’s digital platform if you’re connecting with students remotely. Prepare the materials for each activity and preview PSAs on our website for reference in advance. Distribute the family letter as well to help parents continue the conversation at home.

- Occupant fatalities of other vehicles increased by 42 percent
- Nonoccupant (pedestrians, bicyclists, or other nonoccupants) fatalities increased by 42 percent.
- Occupant fatalities of other vehicles decreased by 4 percent.
- Nonoccupant fatalities decreased by 9 percent.
