NEW YORK TEEN SAFE DRIVING COALITION
From: Susan Pedo
A Welcome Letter to be read at the
NYS Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association Conference
Dear NY Teen Safe Driving Coalition Members and Driver Education Teachers:
Great News! We are conducting our Preventing Teen Crashes Project again this year. We hope that you will find time to participate in this project and as your school and driver education program can benefit.
This is great month to encourage your local schools to sign up for Teen Crashes GTG! All information is on our website at teensafedriving.org/ny under the "Initiatives" tab. As in past years, student groups will earn $200 for holding 3 teen safe driving activities at their schools. The on-line planning guide is full of easy and effective ideas - or they can build around an activity already held at their school. Encourage the student leaders you work with to send in their registration forms and start planning today!
We also have a great opportunity for schools to hear a presentation from a safe driving speaker advocate through our partners at the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee. Let me know if you would like to have one of GTSC's outstanding advocates appear at the schools you work with as part of Teen Crashes GTG - or other student safety program you are implementing. You will be hearing from our Speakers today at your conference. We hope that you will find them informative and their message compelling.
Best wishes for a safe and happy 2016,
Susan Pedo NY Teen Safe Driving Coalition
